NANCY PINDRUS has been photographing faces for over twenty years. Her portrait subjects have ranged from authors and musicians to infants, actors, fashion models, and the family pet. Before her specialization in photographic portraiture however, she apprenticed to Joe Morello, an advertising photographer, who specialized in product work, jewelry and food.

Her photographs have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, the New York Times, Newsweek, and New York Magazine, as well as on cassettes, CD’s, book jackets and record covers.

She has exhibited in the Salmagundi Club’s juried photo competitions, the New York Public Library, and the Alfred Lowenherz Gallery, New York City. In 2007, her photo “Nuptial Plumes” won the Best in Show award in the Salmagundi show. Her photo exhibition of baby parrots, entitled “Sweet Beginnings,” has been displayed in Stamford and Rowayton Ct. and most recently in the Donnell Library in NYC. Her portrait of the sculptor, Jose de Creeft, resides in the permanent collection of the Art Students League of New York.

She lives in New York City with LuluBird, an orange winged amazon parrot and Liza the Kitty.
